Replace liquid adhesives and metal screws with material intended for permanent application. Smooth surfaces are supported with a four square inch to one pound material to load ratio. Surfaces which are rougher will require additional material. Initial bonding is the first step with important considerations ensuring requisite strength.
  • Recommended temperature of 50 degrees F or higher
  • Clean surface area which tape application will occur
  • Use a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water on surface and allow area to dry
  1. Steel
  2. Acrylic
  3. Polycarbonate
  4. Painted or sealed substrates

Certain glossy surfaces and some paints and expanded rigid PVC boards will likely benefit from a light scuffing with fine sandpaper or a mild abrasive pad prior to cleaning with the 50:50 mix. There are a number of surfaces which may require additional priming, including glass, concrete, wood, brass, copper, bronze, drywall, concrete and some plasticized vinyl substrates. Additional details available for recommended surface preparation. Bond strength increases over time as indicated with the following data:
  • 20 minutes approximately 50%
  • 24 hours results in 90%
  • 72 hours is a complete 100% bond
